One of the biggest questions or things people struggle with that I talk to, is how to optimize recovery..especially as a man over 40. You need to make sure that you are doing the right things to optimize your replenishment and recovery from your daily activities. In this video, I want to tell you how to recover optimally after your workouts for faster fat loss and muscle gain. I am assuming you are already working out, so this video is for you! Let’s get started with these tips to help you recover from your workouts faster and better.

Tip #1: MAINTAIN PROTEIN SYNTHESIS. You need to make sure you are eating an adequate supply of protein, so that your body has it readily available for when it needs it for recovery. Once you workout, you are breaking down your muscle fibers, which is a part of the muscle building process. I recommend eating anywhere between 0.7-1.0 grams of protein per pound of your goal weight. If you are leaner, you might need more protein or closer to the 1 gram amount.

Tip #2: MOBILITY ROUTINE AFTER YOUR WORKOUT. Really open up the muscle groups that you were just working for the day, and do this after your workouts. This is going to help with active recovery, getting blood flow into the muscles. This will help speed up the recovery, and even just staying active on your off days.

Tip #3: PRIORITIZE YOUR SLEEP. You need to make sure you are getting good quality sleep, and you should be trying to get 7-9 hours of sleep a night. REM Sleep is the sleep necessary to optimize growth hormones and testosterone.

      Good stuff thank you for your time this morning after I worked out I did a short set but it’s really heavy then I ate a pint of protein ice cream it’s good morning now I’m going to go chug a half gallon of coffee
