Rest periods too long. I’m 59 but not ready for the rocking chair yet.

People use the excuse of old age to become out of shape and lazy. When in fact when you get older it’s the time to really strive at staying in shape. I’m 63 and still pumping iron better than I did when I was young. I have my own routine but I occasionally watch some workout channels.

Certainly if someone doesn’t use enough weight then the rest periods might be too long. But I guarantee that if you use enough weight then the rest periods won’t be long for you or anyone else. You have to challenge yourself by using heavy weight. You’ll be begging for more rest time if you use heavier weights.

At 63 I do each body part once a week and only do 2 body parts on the same day.
