It is crucial as a man over 40 that you are taking care of your health, and getting rid of body fat is important. Getting lean is not something that happens over night, and today we are going to focus on how to stay lean after 40. We have lots of other videos on how to lose fat and get in shape, so make sure to check those out, in addition to this video. So, how do you maintain a lower body fat percentage? Let’s get into these tips now to help you stay lean as a man over 40.

Tip #1: LOOK AT YOUR NUTRITION. Add carb-cycling to your nutrition plan. It is important to make sure that you have carbs in your diet by eating the right amount, eating them when you need to eat them, and eating the right type of carbs. If you are in one of my programs, I have you working out with resistance training 4 days per week. That means, you can eat complex carbs on the days that you are doing resistance training because you need them for fuel. Also, make sure that you eat the same amount of protein every day. You also need good saturated fats to optimize your hormone production. You can eat veggies any day of the week, especially when it is a day off from complex carbs.

Tip #2: STAY ACTIVE. You should be trying to get 10,000-12,000 steps in each day. If you work a desk job, you need to make it a priority to get out and get some exercise daily.

You can also try utilizing intermittent fasting a few days a week to help you stay lean, and keep you from overeating.

Tip #3: ELIMINATE FAST, FRIED, AND PROCESSED FOODS. I know convenience meals can be easy and taste good. However, you are not going to be getting the proper nutrients your body needs, that you would get from eating whole, nutrient dense foods. Processed foods can lower your testosterone levels. I encourage you to meal prep if you can! You also want to eliminate soda and sugary drinks. Lastly, avoid snacking late at night before you go to bed.

Tip #4: MAKE THIS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE. One of the most important things to staying lean is consistently trying to stay healthy. It is okay to have days where you enjoy junk foods or have a drink, but make sure you are focusing on your health and maintaining your positive lifestyle changes.

Alright guys, that wraps up this video tutorial on how to stay lean after 40. Make sure to apply these tips to help you stay lean, after you lose your excess body fat. Subscribe to our channel for more videos on how to lose fat and build muscle at the same time.

Very good point. I will eat honey roasted or unsalted peanuts.

I’m going to bring more protein shakes and use those as snacks.

This is great information. Thanks 🙏🏾

Protein shakes???? You can buy nonfat dry milk at Walmart for 10 dollars for 10,1 quart envelopes. Add 1 envelope to only 16 ounces of water and shake it for a vanilla taste or add some chocolate malt Ovaltien too it for a really good taste. Protein = 64 grams plus other benefits of the milk . Even Ovaltien has some benefits to it… all for a dollar compared to a Protein shake which costs a lot more for less grams of protein.

Thanks Gary. Very good job explaining carb cycling. I’m so tired of hearing I can’t eat the foods that my parents and grandparents ate and I grew up on. They were more physically active and fast food didn’t exist. This video is definitely good news.

      Excellent.

      Very Good Video.

I eat what I want, and I exercise. Simple. Just don’t want to be more serious and strict about it all than that. Being happy is number 1.
