I put the new Project Rock 3 shoe from Under Armour to the test during a leg workout in the gym today. In this video you'll get my complete review of how well the Under Armour Project 3 training shoe performed in the gym along with the fit and comfort.
Plus I compare the Project Rock 3 shoe to another Under Armour shoe that I purchased this past week as well as the previous Adidas shoe I wore for my workouts.

If and when I eventually get stateside Scott I’ll have to buy a extra suitcase just to bring back all the project Rock under amour gear haha I have got the adidas powerlift weight lifting shoes which I only squat in which aren’t the most comfortable but they give you the support with a raised heel which is great for squatting in MINT
Hahaha I’d highly recommend at least one extra suitcase. I’m definitely hooked on the Project Rock apparel and workout gear. I knew weight lifting shoes would be good for squats and deadlifts, but wondered how comfortable they were and if they would be ok for other exercises. I don’t think they would be practical for me. But I absolutely love these Project Rock 3 shoes. Make it a great day my brother

What can you say about the sizing? Did you find it to be true size?
@Lose Fat Get Jacked your feedback sounds good enough for me. I just ordered my Project Rock a couple of hours ago. I did go half size up just to be sure coz it’s very hard to get a replacement in my country. Hope it still fits. I’ll let you know when package arrives. Thankkkkkssss!
Awesome!!! I look forward to hearing your feedback when you get them
@Lose Fat Get Jacked finally got it sir! Never expected them to be actually SHORT. Glad i sized up. But even with a size up, it’s still shorter than the other UA training shoe I have. Though I can work with these, i wouldn’t have been able to if i ordered my true size
@John Mark Viterbo wow! I find it so interesting that some of us find the shoe to be true to size, while others need to go a size up. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the shoe. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. How do you like the collar for ankle and achilles stability?
@Lose Fat Get Jacked i don’t really notice the ankle collar. But i like the structure that it gives to the shoe
Everyone says it runs small, at least a half size. I wear 14s, should I go for 15? Also, do you wear socks?
Thanks for the review mate.
That’s interesting. Mine are the same size as every other shoe I’ve worn. The Project Rock 3 does fit more like a glove than any other shoe I’ve worn, so you probably can’t go wrong with going half a size up. I don’t think a full size up would be a good idea. Yes I wear socks. I think a lot of it must depend on the overall shape of our foot. Thanks for the question
@Lose Fat Get Jacked unfortunately there’s no 14.5, so i guess i must go half size smaller or half size bigger 💔. thanks for the prompt answer mate, nice review
ah… then ya, 15 would probably be the way to go. I wouldn’t go smaller. I appreciate the feedback for my review
Mine came with the Rock branded box
I’m jealous 😊 how do you like the fit? Some people have said they needed to get 1/2 size bigger. Mine fit true to size
Scott Tousignant Jacked After 40 True to Size for me also
Thanks for the feedback brother
I’m trying to compare with my other UA running shoe (size 7) I’m currently using when I’m training. I was just measuring my foot to see what my preferable size is telling me and it’s the same size. I’m not sure when it comes to the UA shoe designs are similar in terms of material. I’ve been looking at reviews for the PR3 and they’re saying a half size up is suggested. What do you think?
For some of us the shoe has been true to size, but others have found they needed to go 1/2 size up. It’s tough to say.
What about the mixed sole?
In Nike that type of soles take off with the use starting in the corners of unions of the parts.
Probably i’m gonna buy my first pair of UA, but I don’t like that problems…
Sorry. I don’t really have any experience with that or feedback. I’m enjoying the shoe so far though.
wear a normal size 11 and went up to a 12.5! not sure if my foot grew or if these just run small but i absolutely love them!
Holy moly. I’m shocked that you needed to go up in size that much. So glad to hear that you are enjoying the shoe. I love wearing them.
@Lose Fat Get Jacked I typically wear a 11.5 and ordered the 12 after reading they run small. It was still tight, waaay tight on the toe area. I had to go with a 13! Granted, my foot is on the wide side.
Man I really want the black ones, I’m a size 12 and everyone is saying to size up by half. Unfortunately they’re sold out of the 12.5s so hopefully they get more in soon!
It’s so interesting to hear that some of us find this show true to size, while others feel they needed to go half a size to a full size bigger. I guess it depends on the shape of your foot. I hope you’re able to get them soon. I love them
A thirteen will fit you just fine as they run small. I’m a 11.5/12 depending on the style. I had to get the 13’s for a comfortable fit.
Scott what do you think these or the PR2 for gym?
I haven’t worn the PR2 so can’t really say. I love the PR3. Just bought another pair this week and went 1/2 size larger and really like the fit.
Comparing an actual running shoe (which is what the Charged are) to a training shoe is apples to oranges, my man. The more apt comparison to make would be the Reign 2’s vs the PR3.
@Lose Fat Get Jacked no criticism, brother. Just throwing it out there. I tried both the PR3 and the Reign 2. I happen to prefer the Reign 2. Different strokes for different folks.
That’s great to know. I honestly haven’t looked at the Reign 2 until now. It looks like a flatter sole, which would be fantastic for training, especially on leg day. I’m just a Project Rock fan boy 😉 But you actually piqued my interest to scoop up a pair of the Reign 2. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I appreciate it.
@Lose Fat Get Jacked no problem, man. Somehow your vid popped up on my feed, so I gave it watch. Rock fan boy or not, the video was well done. If you do snatch up a pair of Reign 2’s, I’d be interested in your comparison. There’s quite a bit of difference in the drop between them.
You can count on a comparison if/when I scoop up the Reign 2’s. Thanks again
And he refers to these as running shoes …..lol
Hello! Are these good for flat feet?
I apologize, but I have no idea of they would be good for flat feet or not. Sorry I couldn’t give you an answer.
@Lose Fat Get Jacked that’s alright, thank you for the response !
Hi, this shoes has the same sizing as the running nike shoes? Cause they normally run small.
I have two pairs. One true to size and the other a half size bigger. They both fit great. I prefer the snuggness of the true to size, but the extra room with the half size bigger is nice too. Again, I think a lot of it has to do with the shape of our feet and why we’re seeing so many different opinions on true to size or bigger.
Quality Count and everything you do and life 🤘🏾
Hi. How did they performed? Did the toes bust out of that stretchy material in front? Or is it resisting well?
I love them. Bought a second pair in a different colour. Toes haven’t busted out, which does usually happen to me with shoes that have the stretchy material in front. I’m very happy with them
@Lose Fat Get Jacked thanks man
the only thing i didn’t like was how long the laces were, had to switch mines with some black nike vapor max laces and now love the shoe.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. Glad to hear that you’re loving the shoe as well.
do the laces even need to be on em?
Hey Scott what do you think about under Armour compression gear vs Nike pro gear or which brand is better in general your opinion please??
Sorry, I haven’t used any of the compression gear from Under Armour or Nike so I don’t have an opinion on it.
Hi! Do you feel like the knit has stretched or broken in after months of use? Just got 10.5 which is my typical fit and it works
I only wear mine to the gym and they still look and feel like new.
is this good for cardio ? and for free squat as well ?
No I think there are better shoes for jogging. As for squats, I like them, but they aren’t like your typical weight lifting shoe for deadlifts and squats.
Had them for over a year, only used in the gym for weightlifting. 95% tread life left I’d estimate. The string at the top that holds the laces ripped. I have an almost brand new looking shoe that is now worthless.
I appreciate you sharing your experience with us. I’ve had the same thing happen with other shoes and it’s very frustrating. I’ve used my camo Project Rock 3’s in the gym only and the black ones in the gym and outdoors. Both still have lots of tread and almost look like new. But I admit, when I’m lacing them up, there is that fear that the string where the laces go through may break. Thanks for bringing that up.
