If like some of our hardest working customers, you've lost 50 – 100lbs in body-weight, you may have some excess loose skin on your body.
In this video and accompanying article, I'm offering you 5 amazing solutions to combat loose skin after weight loss.
Some of you may believe that it's impossible to fix loose skin after weight loss without surgery, but I'm here to tell you that you can.
In fact… I have 4 other solutions you should try before you even think about letting a surgeon near you.
Here are my 4 remedies for loose skin after weight loss before surgery should be an option.
Step #1: Build More Muscle
Now that you've lost a lot of body fat, you have ended up with space on your frame and inside your skin, which is causing it to be loose.
My recommendation is to clean bulk muscle tissue (increasing muscle without adding fat) to fill up the space, improve your body shape, and help tighten up your loose skin.
More muscle mass will also ignite your metabolism and help with another one of my recommendations further down, of continuing to lose body fat. Two birds with one stone! Win-Win!!
Step #2: Protect your skin & Supplement with collagen
Protecting your skin from things that will damage its elasticity is the first stage of this step.
Quitting smoking, avoiding UV rays without sunscreen, and avoiding too much chlorine or other chemicals on your skin will help.
Daily moisturizing or a similar skincare routine maybe isn't what you're used to, but if you're open to loose skin after weight loss remedies, this could be the change you need to make.
Also, because a lot of loose skin after weight loss over 50 is caused by decreasing collagen production in your body, supplementing with collagen would definitely be beneficial.
My personal recommendation is Great Lakes Collagen, which you can find at
Step #3: Continue decreasing body-fat (to 10-12%)
If you've been using the Fit Father Project programs to lose weight, you'll know the overwhelming benefits that come with reduced weight and body fat.
For that sake, continuing to lose body fat, down to a level of around 10-12%, will help you see whether any more invasive next steps are needed.
If you still have loose skin after you have got down to such a low percentage, you may need to decide whether you are happy as you are, or whether my last 2 solutions are needed.
Step #4: Non-invasive medical procedures (Fraxel lasers/radio frequency skin tightening)
Non-invasive procedures, such as Fraxel lasers or radio frequency skin tightening machines could be the next step you need to take if the previous 3 options haven't had the desired effect.
Radio frequency machines are freely available from beauty stores, Amazon or eBay. Sessions are also likely available at beauty centers and medical centers in your local area.
Fraxel lasers are also available, but I would suggest having this done by a professional at a reputable clinic.
If you have health care insurance, it would be worth checking out whether these types of treatments are covered.
Step #5 & Last option: Surgery
This is the option I hope you are able to avoid, but in some instances where my other 4 options haven't worked, it may be necessary to seek the professional opinion of a surgeon.
Having loose skin after weight loss cannot always be solved without surgery, but I would still urge you to give the first 4 options a shot before reaching out to your doctor or surgeon.
I really hope this information has been helpful for you, and wish you all the best as you continue your lifelong journey of being a fit father!

good honest information and a subject not often discussed !
I agree the video had some good information thats not widely known.
I agree. We need more videos like this that deal with male issues openly and take the trouble to really explain the science and what options are available.
We couldn’t agree more! Our goal is to bring to light issues/problems that men are dealing with & then talk about their solutions!

Very useful information. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve been having a lot of success losing weight but have been worried about how to get rid of loose skin. I’m definitely going to start muscle building soon and just quit smoking so I hope that will help. Thanks!
May god favor your endeavor.

this is a great topic because it happens to so many people ! We’re so focused on losing the weight and feeling better, but then it’s so tough dealing with the extra, loose skin. It certainly doesn’t help for self-esteem and confidence. That’s why it’s so great to learn that there are natural options available instead of surgery. thank you for covering these solutions in your video!
Love the tips in this. I was originally thinking surgery was the only option but I am glad to know there are alternatives.
There are definitely alternatives to surgery and we always encourage our Members to make changes the healthy, safe and sustainable way!

How did you end up?
See, I knew there had to be a way to deal with that loose skin without surgery. I’m finding that I’m really starting to enjoy your videos. You have actual good, scientifically proven facts and advice and you (obviously) practice what you preach. Collagen supplements….. Bet that works for an aging face too? 😉
1. Build muscle to fill some of the space
2. Reduce exposure to harmful factors like smoking, etc., and increase collagen intake
3. Loose additional adipose tissue under the skin
4. Non-surgical therapy like lasers, etc.
5. Surgery
hi i am 20 years old man . im about 115kilos i am scared to lose weight because of excess skin. i dont want to get surgery to get rid of the excess skin.. if i get lose weight how to get rid of the excess skin especially in my chest part,? please help me
Thanks
@Kevin Mejares I’m not a doctor or anything but you’ll likely be able to tighten the skin. It may not go away completely, but between muscle and using supplements/natural retraction it could. You’re still pretty young and entering you’re athletic prime so you can likely do pretty well
thanks for sharing these notes
@Kevin Mejares try fasting and build muscle
I went from 297 3 years ago and the past 16 months ive been bouncing between 175-185, i feel good, strong, but i have a few spots with loose skin on me, my stomache being my biggest problem area. Ive worked steadily to where i have only a tiny flap of skin, but it still is something that keeps me very self conscious
Hi Joseph, great achievement, after 100 pounds droop in weight some loose skin is normal, make sure to include collagen supplements on your diet 👍
One thing that most people don’t realize is that your body completely replace itself every 3 to 5 years depending on your weight, so don’t stop exercising.
Thanks bro
Ok so question on filling the muscles. Let’s say you get down to that 10-12% body fat with medium loose skin and decided to go into a calorie surplus/bulk and start running test-e/c to put on maximum size and fill in that looseness? Will that help too?
That is a myth.
@Life is Magical Wrong.
Yuh
Hi , thanks for this video i’m 19 and actually lost 35kg in 8 months with shakes 2 years ago.
I’m actually in caloric deficit and i’m seeing the retirement of loose skin with “gaining and definition”.
Practically Put kgs and delete .
Now i’m 76 but i’m too short like 1.68cm and i need to lose 6kgs. I’m Doing normal diet without that ugly shakes that ruin my skin but saved my life.
Awesome Francesco! Good luck 🙌
Thank you so much for how compassionate you were in delivering these tips! I’m also going to explore these options for my mommy tummy!
Awesome my friend! I’m very glad this was helpful for you! You’re very welcome 👍🏼
You forgot to mention Intermittent Fasting (IF) which can help the body consume lose skin.
I don’t smoke, don’t swim and stopped doing the tanning thing in the very early 80s. So I got those angles covered. Thanks for the collagen tip, I hadn’t thought of that. I’m waiting to get my weight down another 25 lbs before I start lifting again.
Thanks for the tips!
You’re very welcome 🙏
I lost all the weight I needed to lose my body fat is at 11% and I lost it slowly and I’m 19 so I don’t think I have any other option than surgery even though my lose skin is really minor it still bothers me
A lot of great information. I know this was directed to males so I want to ask obviously the 12% fat mentioned is different for women. What fat percentage should I be shooting for as a woman? I started out at 390 and am floating around 150 at 5’7. I have a TON of excess skin and am more uncomfortable with my body now than I was at almost 400#s
I had a consultation with a surgeon here in Iowa and they quoted me $72k for all my skin surgeries which is completely unattainable for me. This will take years to save up. This being said since I have nothing but time I am researching what I can do to help improve what I can. Thank you!!
Hey Kali, thanks for writing in and congratulations on that lifestyle change! Wow, how inspirational that you have dropped so much weight to better your life. Regarding a body-fat percentage to shoot for, it will be a bit higher for women as fat is a little more essential for women than men. So somewhere around the 20% body-fat range is a great target to shoot for.

39 year old – 114kg… Started 3 months ago down to 94kg. Loving it, got Wellness App, Fitbit, changed my diet, eating 2200 Cals a day – drink more water – up at 05:30 Gym, exercise, back by 07:15 for a good Breakfast time with the kids feel good for the whole day, anymore walking that day or extra exercise is pure profit. Weight loss is a bit too fast, so I need to watch that.
Awesome my friend! Keep it up 🙏
Same weight how tall are you? I’m 26 I’d love to compare the difference with you on loose skin. Did you barely get any loose skin? I’m 6 foot.
You have no idea how helpful this was. Thanks bro. Keep it up.
You’re very welcome 🙏
For everyone here – Congratulations! You’ve put in the hard work and have everything to show for it! You have earned your way to this video. Keep up the great work! 💪🏼
Thank you very much 👍🏼
Another factor is time. Some people shrink right up, some people don’t. I’ve been at around the same BMI for like a year and my body has reshaped and shrunk a lot during that time. I’ve got about as much loose skin as I did 40 lbs heavier.
